I have a dark grey dash (I think) and I want to paint the airbag cover and glovebox under the airbag black.
THINGS I NEED TO KNOW:
1.) First of all, how do I get the airbag cover and glove box cover off? Without setting off the airbags, or taking the airbags out of my truck.
2.) What color vinyl paint i'll need (want it to match fords stock black dash color).
3.) All the materials I'll need to prep the covers.
4.) How many coats of paint, and how long to let each coat dry (I don't know much about this stuff at all)
I pretty much need a whole walkthrough on the process.
Please help, i'm hoping to get this done in the next week so any help you guys can give is great. I know people caution about paint flying in your passengers eyes in an accident but i'm not very concerned about that at all.
Also if you can find any photos of the airbag/glovebox cover painted black please post! Thanks!
By the way, I drive a 2001 Ford Explorer XLT AWD. Not sure if that makes a difference.
(P.S., I wouldnt mind painting the vent next to the airbag cover)
