So quick question for those with the manual hubs, has anyone experience any issues or has any experience with the "upgraded" warn 37780 hubs? my auto hubs have been broken for years and finally getting around to convert, now i read that these are apparently an upgrade to the 29071 and for $30 more dollars on amazon these seem like the better choice. Or if anybody has any info on any other hubs available today im all ears.

Along with the mile maker 95-27997 nut conversion kit(for $40.49), that should be all i need right?

They will be going on an all stock 1994 xlt thats my daily, with maybe the once a month light offroad cruise

thanks again

For occasional light duty offroad cruising in a stock truck, the regular hubs will be more than good enough. I've run the rugular ones for years, doing fairly extreme offroading with a locked front axle and 37" tires, and I only broke a hub twice. So you'll be fine.

My experience is that I converted (to 37780's) about 4 years ago and am much happier knowing that I won't get the click click and "am I locked or not" feeling. Should have done it years earlier.

i decided on 37780 simply because it wasn't much more expensive, and I like to overbuild. But RangerX is right, even the standard Warn replacement hubs are plenty strong compared to the auto hubs. You would be hard pressed to break the standard Warn hubs -- I have seen standard Warns in action on friends trucks that saw big tires and abuse and they held fine.

I also am using the Spicer D44 outer nut (part# 28068X) that's discussed in that master hub thread. No problems with this setup.

and thats what i figured, stock manual hubs will be more than good enough, but for $30 more i can get the upgraded ones, so why wouldnt you want that??
