Does anyone have experience with strange behavior of parking aid? The parking alarm on my 16MY Limited occasionally just go off when I am slowing down from normal driving speed to a relatively slow rolling speed, but definitely much higher than the 5km/h threshold of the park aid system. And this happens few times a month just randomly regardless of environment.

Another weird electronic issue is after starting the vehicle and driving for a minute or two, I got a serious of error messages on the dashboard from traction control disabled, service advance trac, hill decent not available, adaptive cruise control not available and some other messages that I don’t remember. While in the meantime there is parking aid system error message on center media screen as well. But the vehicle seems moving fine, and after restarting and driving the vehicle a bit these messages just disappeared. This seems totally bizarre and happens to me about once a year and the last occurrence was a week ago.

By searching similar issues, it seems the powertrain messages might be caused by MAP sensor or Yaw Rate sensor. I am wondering if my two issues are related, but it doesn’t make any sense to me that parking aid could be affected by powertrain sensors?

Any suggestions? Thanks!

A bad battery will sometimes cause the dash to light up like a Christmas tree as one member put it. Also, check out this thread; Wheel speed sensor '14 Sport *resolved*

Thanks Peter. I replaced the battery once 3 years ago, fixed the corroded positive connector twice in the past. I can count maybe 5 times theses powertrain error messages happened and I feel they were about evenly spread out in my 6 years ownership. I remember those occasions because each time it was quite an event with a chain of error messages and warning chimes. The first time it happened the vehicle was basically brand new.

I will keep in mind about the connector/wire of wheel speed sensor. Will check them when taking winter wheels off in spring.
