Has anyone experienced this before? When I put my explorer in reverse or any of the foward gears and stopped with my foot on the brake, there is some kind of creeking noise comeing from my tranny. It doesn't make the noise in park or nutral, just the drives. It kind of creeks then goes away then comes back again. It drives me CRAZY. I just got my filter changed plus a full tranny flush thinking that would get rid of it. Nope. I hope it's not the telltail sign of an tranny starting to go south.

tranny noise

Hey man

Have you figured it out yet? If so let me know.

My tranny in my eb'91 does the same thing. I don't know what it is and only makes noise in gear. I have it scheduled to get a fluid flush and filter change but don't want to do it if you say it didn't help your car.

I also have a 84 mustang gt. Just thought I'd let you know since your post says you have a 86 stang.

How much mileage do you have on your truck??

I put about 135K on it. It still runs strong except for that noise from tranny

I've got a 165k on mine. I took it to a tranny shop and he figures it's starting to go or some sort of pump in the tranny is starting to go.he said that a rebuilt tranny installed goes for 1,500 to 2,000 CDN so I think I'll leave it untill it dies.

Sounds like your tranny mount is shot.
