Hey guys, I just went about an hour one way to boston and back yesterday in my 97 5.0 (80k). I have an apten chip in there that I just switched back to using 87 octane, from 93, because the gas prices are so high now. About 3 times yesterday when I accelerate from a stop did it seem to bog down (almost stall, not fully though) and then pep back up. I have never had this problem, but this was my first tank switch back to 87 in a while. I might run some fuel system cleaner through or dry gas, but I wasn't sure if it was the octane change that could have thrown something off.
My other weird occurance yesterday was on teh highway at about 75mph down to boston it sounded like my front end was engaging into 4x4 high. Yes, I know my X is AWD and I know exactly how it works, but the sound and feelign through the floor felt like a 4 wheel drive system was engaging up front. On the way back, jsut cruising along, my tranny downshifted (for no reason) and was in neutral for abotu 4-5 seconds. I was about to pull off of the highway but then it reengaged, now everything is ok again.
Any ideas as to what these two weird issues could be? Thanks!
