Ok. Well heres the deal. I have had my 32x11.50 BFG T/A ko's on for about 4 months. I have 3:27 gears... and I know my milage isnt the best. or power. but I can live with it. I don't plan to run this combo for more than another 1.5 at the most. maybe 2 years. Now I got a new transmisson about 10k miles ago. And everything seems in pretty good shape... had the ball joints replaced about 6 months ago etc. new a lot of stuff. Well I have a little engine trouble, it boggs down if you hit the gas har,d but thats another story.
anyways I just want to know what Im hurting from running this tire/ gear combo, and how bad it is for everything. I dont want anything huge to break. thanks

You are running a great risk of destroying an already weak transmission, other than that, just make sure your wheel bearings stay tight and keep tabs on the whole front end as with any lift, big tire combo!

I second the tranny, your really making the tranny work hard with that combo. I would suggest changing the gears asap to a least a 3.73 ratio minimum.

Either re-gear or keep buying new trannies.

I do have some 3.73 gears that would fix that problem right up... :)

I was going through the same thing as you, which is why I'm taking my 32's off and returning to stock height/tire size. Haven't had to rebuild my tranny yet (78K miles) and I don't want to anytime soon.

the car wont see another 15k with these tires. i have a aux cooler in there, and a fan installed right in front of the cooler. maybe i should install a second filter

Don't get 3.73's. Get 4.10's. Adventually you will want them and they will match up with 32's really well. And you will definatley destroy the transmission with your setup. Another filter wont do much, it's just the stress that it is undergoing that is bad for it.

Your only hurting yourself. Having no power to accelerate off and on road. Go ahead and regear jonathan, and lock it up while your at it so you can hang w/ me on the trails. I wanna regear to 4.88s soon, these 4.30 stock gears arent doin it for my 32s. :D

This is kinda off the whole topic. I'm not an off roader, but I am wondering if anyone can help me. I believe I have 4.10 gears but I'm not sure. I looked on my door and I didnt see anything that says what I have. Maybe I looked it over. Anyway, if I want a faster 0-60 time should I run a smaller tire or bigger tire? Smaller, right? Only problem with smaller is looks and I have to recalibrate so I'm not putting on additional miles. Let me know if what I said is right. Thanks.

you are correct,,

yes smaller tires better torqe,, higher RPMs.
on your door tag there should be an "axle" code,,
give that code on the board here and we'll tell ya what gears ya have,, or you can email me

hope this helps.
