My buddy in an 87 5.0L got cut off today(POURING rain), spun around and hit a pole, bumper is bent up, turn signals gone, hood wont close, both doors now rub on the fenders that were pushed back and the clincher, when you open the hood you get a nice shot of the frame bent in towards the engine. not much but noticeable. Really nice and clean mustang in awesome shape....write off?

Oh and it spun another 180 and scuffed the rear paint.

Frame bent in engine bay on a 15 year old vehicle = totaled.

Though he can probably find a place to straighten the frame and get some nice mods, salvage title it. Though he could also tube frame the front and be much much safer :)

Of course I haven't seen the damage firsthand so I can't say how safe or not the car is now.

I have owned 4 5.0 mustangs 87-93

Its totaled:(

i assume its bent somewere around the Kmember. although it would really be a somewhat easy fix, my guess would be that its totalled. fox bodies are a dime a dozon and have very low resale value. if blue book on that car is $4000, than $2000 in damage will total it.

Take the 5.0 drivetrain for your X!

87 GT 5.0 loaded in excellent condition only has a 2300 private party book thats with 75000 miles with auto tranny:D
