I have posted this for fun, curious to see what everyone feels about their ST's. The number 1 thing I hate about owning my ST, and it's probably the only thing, is the fact that everything, well nearly everything, for our trucks has to be ordered. Almost every auto parts store locally between my house and my parents home never seems to have specific parts for our vehicles in stock. One of the things I love about our ST's is the versatility. I have used my ST to do everything from off-roading and muddling, to driving through Ga's "snowpacolypse" as a rescue vehicle helping stuck drivers and getting people out of ditches. I've used it to travel the country loaded down while towing cars for shows and it has never once let me down. I love my 4.6L v8 limited ST and the color always turns heads lol

Mine will be a past tense, but anyway:

#1, I hated was lack of 4x4 for me (but that's not really the ST's fault), so my 2nd would be relatively poor interior fit-finish and material choice (fake CF and plastic chrome, really?).

Things I miss: low-end torque (even with a 4.0 V6, versus my current 2.5 H4), RWD, no weight over the rear axle (fun fun times), having 5 gears instead of 4, having a Ford, having a Sport Trac or Explorer in general, direct/simple intake, didn't throw a CEL if I pushed it hard or temporarily unplugged the MAF, V6 sound, having a fuel tank that could take me 400+miles... and that's all I can think of now. And I sort of miss the Stone Green Metallic, but silver hides desert/forest pinstripping, etc. so much better.

Like you diesel_s, the biggest thing I hate about the ST is the parts situation. I have the V6 so it makes it hard to get aftermarket parts. I don't do much off roading or any towing at all but every now and then I wish I had a little extra power. I know I should have gotten the V8 if I wanted power, but MPG was more important at the time in San Diego when gas was around $4.25. And again like diesel_s, I love the versatility of my ST. I have driven it through 2 Chicago winters, on beaches and it has never got me stuck. Even with a V6 without 4x4!

Stupid Fuse Box location

I changed a trailer fuse this morning. It is stupid where they located the fuse box. You almost have to be an contortionist to change out a fuse when there is a perfectly located removable panel on the drivers side of the dash.

the only thing i can think of that i dislike about my st is the beds length, another foot would be nice

but after reading your post it is pretty annoying no one has our trucks specific stuff even my local ford dealer rarely has anything

Love - The truck's size, bigger than a Ranger and smaller than a F-150. I've pulled trailers, stumps, other vehicles and the V8 4x4 never sweated. They're also rarer, so you don't see them very often, esp with lifts and larger tires!

Hate (Hate is a strong word, more like dislike) - The truck bed size and no option for suspension lifts! Better gas mileage would be nice to have, but I bought a Fusion hybrid to fix that problem, haha

Haha awesome responses.monenof the things I noticed about our ST's is that a lot of companies think it's completely different from the regular explorer. There are some parts you can find by entering their search as a regular explorer instead of an ST. I love my ST and it's low maintenance, heck every Ford I iwn and my parents have ever owned were all low maintenance, mainly just oil changes here and there. My Acura TL though.....good God, that's a pain in the butt
