This morning my Explorer did something very wierd. I had my window down and i parked to look at something in the back. I get back in and turn the ignition, but not all the way to start it. My alarm suddenly goes off and my cd ejects. I turned the alarm off and put the cd back in. I turned the key a second time and the alarm goes off again as well as the cd ejecting. Also, I heard a loud pop from inside my drivers door. I thought something electrical blew up in my door. I popped the hood to permanetly turn the alarm off with my key then i looked inside my door through the window strips/wipers. The glass had shattered inside the door!!! So when I turned the ignition on that pop was the glass shattering. I couldnt believe it. How did that happen??? I figured out about my alarm and cd, I think my battery is going dead because the alarm goes off and on when it looses and re-gains power from the battery as well as the cd deck. But i dont see how the window shattering is connected to this. Well I am going to take it out and replace it myself Tuesday or Wednesday and maybe I can solve this mystery.

hmmm... bizarre..

here a few things i thought of:
1> a strange coincidence
2> the power window started to go up but was blocked
3> the ghost of a previous owner is haunting you
4> just one of those days

i've had the alarm/cd thing happen in my daytona, but no busted glass

Update

Well I got my window replaced today. After calling glass shops and junk yards to get prices, I decided to let the pros replace it which would come out equal to my time involved and getting it re-tinted. Anyway, the tech found nothing unusual inside the door that would have caused my window to shatter. So leenjen, it must be the 1st choice LOL. I also replaced my battery which tested bad.
