I was looking into ordering some parts for my 2014 Explorer online. Some part numbers are determined by whether or not the vehicle is w/ ID card or w/o ID card. An example is the front door handle. You have a choice of chrome or black, with ID card, or without ID card. Is w/ ID card for for vehicles with the Intelligent access key / push button start, and w/o ID card for vehicles that have a key to start? Thank you!

That's the only difference with the door handles besides the colors on the 2011-2015 models is the intelligent access holes for the limited and Sport models. Base and PI utility have plastic handles, XLT and up have chrome handles.

Welcome to the Forum Joe.
In checking one of the parts sites it seems the description is the same for both with and without ID card.
I got the part numbers from here; http://parts.autonationfordwhitebea...-and-hardware-scat/?part_number=bb5z7822404ca
And then used this site to see if I could get a description; https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/part...&Model=Explorer&Year=2014&Submodel=&Filter=()
They show the same description for both the CA and BA numbers. Might be best to give them a call.

I'm interested to hear what the difference is as well since I've noticed this same thing.

I checked with a parts counter person at a local Ford dealer and even he was not 100% sure of what w/o ID Card or w/ ID Card meant. He also thought that it meant with or without Intelligent Access He was to try to confirm and call me back. Have not heard back yet....Can anyone else confirm??? Thanks!
