What is my heat and supposed to read ?

I have a 91 XLT 4x4 where should my temp gauge read ?

none of them are very accurate.... but anywhere in the word "N O R M A L" is acceptable......
 






And it all depends on your thermostat. I've got a 192 and my guage never hits the 'N', always just below it.
 






mine does all kinds of freaky stuff.... but it never gets out of the n or l....
 






My gauge used to point right in the middle (no normal letters, I have the universal picture for temperature). I replaced my thermostat with a 195 degree stat 2 weeks ago when I flushed my coolant. Now the needle points below the halfway mark... it hangs around 35-40%... sometimes dipping even lower.

Yet, when I have my OBD-II scanner hooked up, monitoring realtime, the coolant temp averages 190 to 195 degrees. Go figure.
