What is that part?

Hi can anyone tell me what this part is used for and what is the name?
It is bolted on the metal bracket that support the coil pac on my 1992 Explorer 4.0 ohv

its a rfi suppesor
its used to keep the wine out of your radio system so u get a clean sound . it can be disconnted with out any problem u might get a wine in the radio. they have been knowen to fail an send the coil to ground there for shutting of your truck an not being able to restart

Ok thats fine so im gonna put it back and just cut it if my truc kfail to start hehe
