2002 Sport Trac
For about 4 years I was traveling extensively and as a result my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac did not get much use. I changed the oil on a regular basis, fixed an A/C problem a couple of years ago, and changed the transmission fluid about a year ago. That's about it...

Now I want to do some preventive maintainance at a local repair shop and would like some advice as to what I should pursue.

The Sport Trac has about 100K, runs good.

I am thinking about a radiator flush and tune-up.... any other recommendations? I am sure all sorts of services will be recommended to me at the repair shop, but for obvious reasons I do not want to overpay and perform unnecessary maintenance

If you haven't already a transmission flush would be a good idea.

Radiator flush is smart too. New spark plugs and wires can't hurt, as well as a new air filter.

Get the brakes checked out (although I'm sure you would notice if there was something wrong with them) and also have the steering/front suspension components looked at (tie rods, ball joints).

Also may want to consider changing the shocks if it hasn't been done recently. Fairly inexpensive and it makes a large difference in handling/ride quality.

And if you just want to cover all your bases get your fuel filter changed too.

That's all I can think of.

+1 on above suggestions. definetly change out the shocks and sway bar endlinks if it hasn't been done already, huge difference.

Thank you for the advice... on my way to drop off my truck for servicing today.

All these tips are perfect!!! I did most of them on my truck recently and the truck runs like new!!! I have close to 170k on the truck...Also to note is the diff fluid...Hopefully you kick it in 4x4 now and then...
