My Ex runs good overall while city driving, but on the highway I get hesitation at any speed. Acceleration is sluggish, I have to hit the gas and tweak out 3000+rpms before it picks up any speed and drops back down to about 2300/2500ish to run smooth. Going up hills and passing I dont have any power at all!. I already cleaned the MAF as suggested. I put in fuel injector cleaner and octane boost which helps slightly. My question is.. WHAT NEXT?! :( Also which one of these "perfomance chips" or programmers are worth while and can pass inspection?

Poor acceleration generally points to either lack of air or lack of fuel. Have you considered looking at the air and fuel filters?

I changed the stock air filter when I cleaned the MAF. That was my next thought, the injectors or something in the fuel line was clogged causing the slugish response. My need for speed has lead me to look into all kind of aftermarket peformance modifications. So once I get it running smooth again, where should I start? Air filter, throttle body spacers, perforemance chip etc? Just trying not to be penny wise and dollar foolish ya dig?
