Hey guys,
My tachometer has been acting funny lately... Mostly around 2000 rpms, it will suddenly drop to 1,000 or 1,500 and then come back up, with no apparent change in engine RPMs. Doesn't appear to affect the way it drives at all.
I am wondering what gives the reading to the tachometer on V8 models of these SUVs. Maybe it's a serp. belt pulley slipping? Belt looks good and seems plenty tight... I would be happy to continue to ignore it if it's not a big deal
I have a 1998 Ford Explorer 5.0 Limited AWD, automatic trans, bone stock as far as I know.
Thanks in advance!
