No, I don't believe you can get a K&N sticker to pass the visual test for smog check.

There are fews on here that buys their air filter separately and fabricate their own adapter to make a custome intake.

The site for the KKM is www.kustomz.com

You can buy a KN sticker from www.knfilters.com . They're like 3 cents, but it's a $10 minimum order from the site, so buy a few stickers and a cleaning kit or something.

haktmal
as much as i want to save money i know i cant custom fab an intake cuase ill probably screw up some parts hence giving me engine troubles or something......lol.....

cmon peeps give me some more sites where they sell k&n gen II air intake cuase im in a tight budget

thanks for the response fellas

i dont think K&N makes a genII for explorer. you can get the regular FIPK but not GENII, thats only on new F-150's and Silverado's. there are a few other apps, but last i knew they didnt make diddly for the X in a gen II.

It seems like the GenII doesn't vary in price too much from place to place. I just ordered one for my OHV the other day. The part number for it was 57-2527. The going price on it is around $240 shipped from all if the authorized K&N dealers I checked.

They make a GenII for the 2001 Models also. Go to K&N's website and do a search on your vehicle, First place you should always go. I am actually about to order one for myself in the next few weeks as soon as I get done doing some other plans I have in my head. The part number for the 2001 is 57-2529-1. And they are about 260$ no mater where you go unless you can find one cheaper on Ebay then you might not get the True thing either. Good Luck.

Cybermartain, welcome to the site, not to be rude or anything, but you may want to tone down your signature a little bit, I think the max is like 5 or 6 lines, and a moderator will do it if you don't. Just FYI. ;)

I got my GenII for my 99 Explorer from www.smartyparts.com. They are selling if for $170 + $5 s/h. I got mines about two weeks after ordering it. It was also the cheapest.

wrong info

i went in the smartyparts.com and 170 bucks for 95-97 not 98
240 bucks for sohc 98 engines

I just checked the prices and was surprised to see higher! My Explorer is a 99 and when I ordered mines, it was going for $170. Looks like they caught on to the average price range. I'm glad I bought one before the change!
