what size socket is needed? 96 limited

What size socket do you need for the axle nut on a 1996 ford explorer? We are tring to replace the wheel bearings on the driver side.

32mm or 1-1/4" socket will work. Try to get a deep well socket if possible. The standard depth sockets don't quite engage enough and it is real fun to have it slip off when you are cranking on it (past experience). lol
 






X2000 on the deep socket, that standard one will slip and knuckles can be hurt real bad,
 












32mm deep socke, yes, and I like a 1/2" drive with a breaker bar... Makes life nicer. Plus having the breaker bar somes in handy for cracking seatbelt bolts loose, etc, if you don't have a breaker bar...
