what's a 00 explorer w/ a bad motor worth?

The engine in my 00 explorer blew up last February (rod through the block). It had 128k on it and a salvage title due to an accident when it had 6000 miles. The guy I sold it to has just let it sit behind his house. He purchased a donor exploder but never did the swap. He has mentioned a couple times letting my buy it back, but I'd have to give him what he paid for it and what he paid for the donor. So, all together $1300 for both. Is it worth buying it back and swapping engines? The donor has 118k on it. The Explorer is in decent shape. Has a couple dings because I hit some ice and ran off the road last January. The dings are from a couple shrubs. about a fist size one on the pass fender, one foot long ding in back pass door, and the the grill and ground effects are missing a little plastic.

I paid $1500 for it in sept 07 w/ 107k on it.

Worth it indeed. Hell I would give 1300 for both an do the swap if possible, in this part of the US at this time of year, , you could sell it after the swap for 3000 easily.

Heck yeah I'd say that's a real good deal on those! Heck sounds like you got a good deal back in 07 buying the 00.

I'd say it's worth it. If you buy them back are you going to part out the donor?
