I love my Leer topper, but unfortunately I need the open bed space. I just purchased my son his first atv, and it won't fit on the trailer with mine and my wife's. I do not want a bigger trailer, so this is the only option.

Anyway, it's in excellent shape, comes with a full bed and tailgate rug, power lock, Yakima rack, etc.... What should I list it for on CL, and what should I realistically expect to get out of it?

Take it off and back on when you need. It won't bring muck on CL. I bought one for my first ST for $150. I had one on my supercrew F150 and got it for $100. I would doubt you could get over $200-300 for it. Just my thoughts.

For that model and the accessories I would price it around $800-1k, no lower than $800 unless it's a member on here or myst.com and they say that (gota give the member discount)LOL.

These caps are hard as hell to find used and it's getting harder each day. New that cap with the extras goes for around $2k+ so you're still selling it cheap. I just sold my ARE cap last year for $600 with no problem, had tons of people (not including members on here) wanting it and mine was spray bombed satin black (I did a great job painting it with rattle can but still). My cap was a base model cap too, your's has a rack setup, power locks, etc...

The day I sold it last winter to a guy that drove three hours to get it.

Don't forget tax return season is coming up so people will have money. You also live where it rains a lot and people want to keep there stuff dry and locked up, you can't do that with an open bed or haul bigger stuff under a tonneau cover. Supply and demand, used stuff isn't cheap anymore because the price of new has gone up so much.

That's a great looking truck and topper!

I paid $600 for my ARE last May (not Midnightrebel's!), and it's not as nice as yours and doesn't have the extras you have. The seller was asking $800, but we both agreed that was a bit high. There were others on craigslist in Kansas City, Chicago and or Detroit at the time for $175-350 or so. I was ok with paying $600 because I really wanted one and had been checking craigslist every day for a year and a half, and this was the 1st one that came up for sale in Des Moines. I haven't seen another one for sale since, but there have been a couple of Sport Tracs for sale with toppers on them.

Prices are all over the place because there aren't many for sale. You'd think that would that would keep the price high, but there aren't many people looking to buy. Often I think the seller sold or traded his truck without the topper and is just looking to be rid of it. The guy I bought mine from had just bought the truck from his uncle and didn't want the topper, but they both knew how hard they are to find, and priced it accordingly. It's a hard market to figure for sure.

Thanks for the input guys. It was nice having it on for the drive in last night! I'm in no rush to be rid of it, so I guess I'll start on the high side. There's no way I'd sell it for $200, so if I don't get any bites I'll just remove it when needed.

I guess different regions have different demand. I was not trying to low ball you, I don't want one myself. Just know in my area they don't bring much. What I was trying to say is what you said you will keep it before selling to cheap so just keep it.

N2, no worries man. I know what you were saying!

I was able to get it on the trailer with the side rails/ramps off, so it looks like I'll be keeping the cap after all!

Cool, how do you have the quads strapped to the trailer? I'd be afraid of them sliding or bouncing off the edge, just looks like their strapped together.

They WILL bounce unless they're strapped down really well. I see atvs loaded in that arrangement all the time, so it does work, but I'd strap them down better than they appear to be in your photo.

That's a nice cap. No way id get rid of that, even if it was stored majority of the yr. I need to get a rack for mine

All three are strapped together, and to the front tie down loops. There is a total of 9 straps in that photo. It's a 2 hour drive to our riding spot, they didn't move an inch.

Sold it today, it will make transporting the atvs much easier. It was cool to see mine next to a stock height Trac, and I really dig the look without the cap on there.

I kept the bed rug, does anyone use one without a topper? I like it in there, but am afraid it will trap water underneath. Thoughts?

How much did you get rid of it for? I'm still partial to the cap on but you like it and that's that. I don't think I would keep the bedrug in an open box-trapped water is never good, I think mold would be an issue. If you put on a tonnue then that would be fine but then again that takes you back to where you started!

Sold it for $600. Not what I was hoping for, but it came with the truck and didn't cost me a dime. I've been searching for a retractable tonneau, but haven't had much luck yet.
