Whats the deal on the SOHC Supercharger?

Where is it whats up. Is it still in process or what. I need some info on this its been a while now. I know Black Magic knows something about it.

It is comming ASAP (of course) I have been on the phone with John V and can't wait to get ahold of mine. There are some manufacuturing issues with quality suppliers that they are trying to work out. Paitence is a vertue. I have been on the waiting list since the project first started. If anyone should be excited, it is me!

i heard it was more along the lines of- bolted it up and it made about 200 hp (maybe 215 at best) at the wheels at full boost (5 psi or so) and obviously no one is gonna pay 3500 for a 15% gain at best...

No, it made about 250 at the wheels if I remember correctly. Mine made 200-215 at the wheels.

dont' say "no it made 250", prove me wrong we can say whatever we think all day. I'll be geniunely happy to be proved wrong on this one, because it will make for a lot of cool explorers which i like, but i've just got an unshakeable feeling and maybe a source or two telling me otherwise.

i know it was bolted onto a car at least 5 months ago, if it had worked as well as you say it would be done (at elast for the non-carb states).



also, alec- i know yours made that much! and thats good. too bad you sold it for like nothing.

December 2003 - Supercharged 4.0L Explorer
Our first supercharged 4.0L SOHC explorer is now on the road and running. We increased factory power from 151RWHP to 249RWHP with 6psi of boost on our base kit. This vehicle made 249RWHP with no other modificaitons thru an automatic transmission with stock exhaust. We are planning to release this kit to the public on February 15th, 2004. Kit price is estimated at $3499 and it will include a chip, injectors, and everything necessary to put this kit on the road.

I gotta convince my dad to get one for his Explorer!

Oh and realize that that was all on a completely stock explorer. I can't wait to see what it puts out with some other mods. Black Magic i expect to see some dyno sheets with this after your "done".

Does anyone actually have one of the Explorer-X 4.0L SOHC supercharger kits installed and running on their Explorer yet? Last time I called them, the kit for my 1998 Explorer was still not released.

i heard apten's new SC kit is really nice for the 4.0. i have not heard any details except it is suppose to make more hp, tq and power band then the eaton kits.
