can any one tell me if there is a thread or good how to on d28 wheel bearings i found out that both my bearings are very bad. i can wobbel my wheels up and down, and it is making my rubbers bald on the insides and leanin in bad at the top....or is the time and $$$ even worth it? im still trying to find a full width 44 but it might be 5 mounths till i can get one. if the bearings are cheep and dont ned some one to press any thing together then ill do it.

I was thinking about doing the soa swap on my Ex. until I saw that it might cost anywhere from 2500-5000 depending on the quality and how much work I do, replacing the hubs would def. be alot cheaper even if you paid somewhere to do it. I am not sure but are these the wheel bearings you need to replace? http://www.explorer4x4.com/tips.htm#bearing it is for a gen1 ex.

Check out the 1st gen brake job diary. It has lots of info and pics on replacing brakes (removing rotors requires removing wheel bearings). If you're using NEW wheel bearings then you will either need new rotors (which will come with new races), or you will need to have a shop Turn your old rotors and press in new races. I wouldn't recommend running new bearings in old races as it would cause accelerated bearing wear.
