Wheel Spacers

I've been offered some pukka Explorer wheel spacers to improve stability
is there a downside to fitting spacers to a Explorer what should the cost be ?

There is a downside, I understand that they will increase pressure on your hubs and may kill your ball joints quicker- this is made worse as you get to thicker than an inch- But saying that I know that they are used and some who have say no problems. I think as a street car your ok under 2 inchs, but I would not off road with them mate!
