Hello,
I have been working through the problems with a used 2009 Explorer I purchased. The front driver's wheel was locking up and I finally figured out it was the wheel speed sensor throwing a code (after replacing the axle and front differential). I purchased a new sensor and replaced it and it was still throwing a code. I disconnected the wire so it would drive and it started flashing the RSC warning along with the ABS dash light. I ordered a cheap new hub which came with a wheel speed sensor figuring my tone ring was bad in the hub. I replaced that and I am still throwing the wheel speed sensor and now my AWD (4WD does work) no longer words and my traction control is permanently off. The wheel is not longer locking up with the new wheel speed sensor but it is still throwing the code. I cannot clear it with my OBD reader nor by any combination of disconnecting the battery. Any ideas?
