wheeling in a 5.0 awd

I just bought a 98' EB Explorer with a 5.0 and awd I was wondering if any of you with the same combo take them offroad and if so how do they perform? I wont be doing any heavy duty wheeling with it just the occasional camping trip with the family and some hunting. I have a 94' sport 4.0 5 speed with a 4" lift and 32" bfg's if I want to do any "heavy wheeling". Any info would be great thanks in advance.

It'll do fine for what you're looking for. It's pretty much like driving around in 4HI all the time.

You could get a locker for some serious AWD traction.
