Hi, can someone tell me where I can find my daylight sensor on my 1997 Ford Explorer 4x4, 2 door, sport package, 4.0 liter. I need to fix it but can't find it?

I think its on the other side of the rear view mirror.

I think it was by the defrost vents in early gen 2's.

It is on the mirror. Where the mirror is attached to the windshield there is a black plastic cover. The sensor is under this cover. If you stand outside the truck on look, you will see it. The cover pops off relatively easy.

Isn't that the sunload sensor, for the EATC?
Then again I'm not sure which one the OP is looking for.

I thought the daylight sensor for the headlights is in the rearview mirror, because it also has that slider on it to adjust the sensitivity.

Don't know for certain, mine doesn't have either.
