Welcome to the forum!!!

On my 94 4.0L, it's on the driver's side, behind the front axle, next to the oil pan, and as mentioned, at the bottom rear of the engine, connected to the flywheel in front of the tranny. I can't imagine they would have changed that between 92 and 94.

If you're replacing the starter, definitely replace the positive battery cable at the same time. It's very long (over 6 feet), and runs under the engine, then up to the battery on the passenger side. They are notorious for corroding from within, and are not a lot of fun to replace, so take advantage of the time you have the starter out and one end of the cable off already.

The cable costs about $70 at NAPA. Buy the best one you can.
