Hey all,

I have a wheel bearing whine on a 2017 FPIU (a district hum/whine that gets louder with wheel speed, but uncorrelated to engine rpm) and went to a local ford dealer and parts place to address the issue. They wanted $280 just to put the car on a lift to spin the wheels and confirm it was the issue, then quoted $1,100 in labor plus the inflated parts cost just to replace one wheel bearing. they estimated around $1,500. This is Connecticut and everything is expensive but that sounds crazy to me.

I now think its better to just buy a set of 4 online and take it to a local Midas to replace them. Maybe even swap on some explorer wheels that i have sitting in my garage while I'm at it..

Can anyone recommend a set of 4 bearings and hub for a decent price that will fit a 2017 FPIU??
I see these three links with a quick google search, and they are all priced differently. Is it possible they are this cheap and will work?

$204.95: 1AAUTO.com

$183.99: CarParts.com

$169.92: eBay

Do any of these look good? Also sometimes i see people replacing axles as well. Is there any reason for this? I would ideally like to only replace parts to solve my issue and avoid another bearing issue. I'm assuming the others may fail soon if one of them does. Not trying to throw away money on axles unnecessarily.

Thanks!! -Mitch

I usually recommend Levittown Ford for parts. They are less expensive than Ford Parts and they are a forum vendor. They offer a discount to members (50% off shipping). Benny has been very helpful to the members here.

Gonna agree with the Levittown suggestion. They saved me some money on the water pump/timing chain parts I needed.
