Hey everyone. I have run into a dilemma. Currently I run a jbl 300.1 for my stealth memphis 10. im putting 2 sets of components up front, 6.5s and 5.25s so i got a jbl 80.4 for those. so i get my 80.4 and it wont fit under the 40 part of the 60/40 back seat like i had planned. ive got the 300.1 on the passenger side under the seat and no where for the 80.4. although this is relatively stealth, i still want the amps kinda visible to show people (like under the seat) but dont want them too visible (like on the back of the seat) i need ideas! if you got any ideas for me please just throw em out there. where should the amps go?!?

You're yesterdays news. We've found someone else, but don't worry, it's us not you. I don't know anything about stereo equipement other than I have a jbl 6w0 that I want to install but need to get an amp. Sorry I couldn't help

hmm thanks for the help anyway eb ;) oh, ive got another jbl 80.4 that you could use for the 6w0...then again its 360w rms and i dont know if it would like being bridged into a sub amp...

suuuure... the old its not you, its me line. :)

I dont know 'bout 95's but in my 99 I mounted the multichannel amp on that panel that folds down when the seat folds down. I know you said you didnt want to put it there buuuuut...
I have one of those plastic cargo liner things in my cargo space to cover it. You'd never know if I didnt show it. I just pop the seat down and voila!

If it's small enough you can put it under the rear panel where the stock amp would sit. I have mine in there. It's completley hidden from view though. Only way to access it is to take the rear panel off.
Here's a pic:

It's been neatly wired since & the panel is now on.
Not too many hiding spots in the X. I also had a amp mounted behind the passanger rear speaker on a Sport. There's plenty of room in that area. But you have an XLT so that's out.

yeah I dont know the size or how your ex is equipped but how about underneath the drivers or pass. seats, I dont know whats under yours or how much room you got though....

I was thinkin too, but it would take a lot of wire, mounting amps in the tailgate?

yea i would almost consider what you did, jnealg but i just made this bike rack that goes inside so you can stand bikes up inside the car...which would pretty much mean parking their muddy/wet/ditry tires on top of the amps. I could put it where the stock amp is but i still want it to be able to be seen but still stealth...if you know what i mean. Dave-thats a sweet idea (the lift gate, ive got power driver and pass seats) but it would take so much more wiring. that is a cool idea...maybe like on the lift gate some how...

To blast the point home, 6w0 would be JL AUDIO, not JBL. Sorry, i thought someone had to say it. :)

:)

bump...still havent installed it...still dunno where to put it :(

I was faced with the same dilema as you but really found no alternative. Here is what I ended up doing:

If I really want to go stealth I just lay a nice rug over them. The cheap mexican rugs you can get in TJ for 5 bux work great. I also pull the cargo shade over too but I sometimes and paranoid and think that when the cover is pulled people think I am trying to hide some thing.

bilbo, that amp rack you made looks pretty sweet. i still have the whole bike problem though. maybe some how i can fit them under the back seat. i dont know, other than that im stuck :(
