I'm trying to find a 12V power source behind the dash of my 2004 EB. I want to run a portable navigation unit from it so it must be switched on/off with the ignition.
The cigarette lighter is unfortunately always on so it's no good. I also don't fancy cutting any wires especially not those on the radio. (and I hate removing the dash bezel, next time it's gonna break! :) )

I took out the glove box and tried to spy out something from there but no luck yet.

I could use some tips from you guys

thanks

Possibly behind the radio and climate control bezel.

I use the stereo power. You'll have to pull the bezel to get to it... but if done properly it shouldn't break.

Another idea would be to get one of those special fuses that has a wire coming off of it for your under dash fuse box and power your nav off of that.

I have a Garmin GPSV and I leave it plugged in all the time powered up. Have not run the battery down yet. I used Wire Taps that don't require you to cut a wire, just tap off it exisiting.
