I've been reading some other threads (they convinced me that the cat-back is what I need) but it seems that the people that I've been reading any interested in the cheepest solution that they can find. I'm interested in a solid, but reasonably priced system. From what I understand my options are: flowmaster, gibson, magnaflow, and borla. Am I leaving any contenders out? I'm not looking for the "perfect" solution, but if someone could give me their $.02 on how these systems compare to eachother that would be great!

Oh, also, I'm not looking for my X to "roar", but a little more throaty sound would be nice ;)

Thanks!

Thanks Alec!

Do you just follow me around, or do you have the answer to everyones questions?? ;)

Just over 13,000 miles on my Stainless Gibson.

No complaints or any complecations. Either way is good but stainless steel is harder to find at a shop. Or someone that can weld it.

Good luck, exhaust is a good mod.

I have a Ravin Muffler....Sounds AWESOME! I love it. Same price as the Flowmaster.

I'm having trouble finding things...
I've looked at 4wheelparts, summit racing and jegs.

I can't find a magnaflow cat-back explorers... Where should I look?? Also, does anyone have any comments about the Dynomax? Seems reasonably priced, and I can find it. How does it compare to the gibson?

Thanks.

I have the Magnaflow.. followed Alec's advice... Just got back from a 2/3 cross country road trip and really didn't get much better mileage (my mileage was actually better in the front range of CO than across Kansas).

IMO a Magnaflow with 2.5" pipes needs a resonator (Alec runs 2 but he has 3" pipes). I didn't get a chance to get one on before the trip, so it was definately loud across the country. If you're not looking for alot of noise, the Flowie 50 Delta is supposed to have very low interior noise but a good exhaust note outside.

Magnaflow is usually a custom thing (which my thoughts thread states if you read it). If you're really worried about noise get a 2.25" tailpipe or a 2.5" tailpipe with a resonator. Most custom setups end up at or below $200.

I have the Dynomax

I have the Dynomax and am extremely pleased with it. It's a bit louder than stock but just what I wanted. I can't compare it to Gibson or any of the others in performance or sound. I could only compare it price wise. Try A-1performance.com

Allright I guess I'm gonna take a ride over to my local offroad shop today and see what they say.

I have a Borla cat back and love it. Quiet on the highway but growls when I put my foot down. It's completely stainless so that is a plus. Just my $.02

A friend of mine sugested this one. WHere did you get it? WHat did you pay? Do youhappen to have a part number?

EDIT: Never mind, it looks like the borla is too rich for my blood. I'm probably going to go with the Flowmaster Force II single side exit.
