If you're looking at the trasmission cooler from the front of the truck, which line is it that will take fluid back to the transmission. ( The one that will release dirty fluid in a flush? )

Both. One runs to the cooler and one runs back to the trans, but anything that goes in one has to go out the other.

Yes, but....

Yes, but if I only wanted to remove one line from the cooler, what would be the flow, right to left or vise versa?

Pull the hose off the bottom of your cooler (the finned cooler, not the one that goes into the rad) that goes to the fitting that goes back to the transmission and not the radiator. Plug this end. I used a bolt stuck in the end and tightened a hose clamp around it. Put a piece of tubing of the same diameter and about 1'-2' long (depends on how high your Explorer is ) so that it reaches easily into a bucket or other container

I guess I don't understand that. I want to pull one piece of hose off of the transmission cooler and attach a hose to a bucket correct? Does anyone know which one would I would disconnect, left or right?

It's just a loop that sends fluid out to be cooled. If you open it up at any point, you can get the old fluid to come out. Just be sure to plug off the other opening. I unhook the rubber hose coming off the finned oil cooler. Then attach a hose to the barbed fitting, and run it into the container of your choice, and start engine. The fluid will now flow untilthe pan is drained.
