I found a place here in Sacramento that disassembles old trannies and bins the parts. They can sell you damn near anything - I'm sure you could get what you need thru them... IM me if you want more info.
As for the output shaft, if in fact a different shaft is used for 2WD (I'm not sure about this being true) you will need to COMPLETELY disassemble the trannie (not necessarily the subassemblies though) to replace it. If you have gone through THAT much work, for god's sake man, rebuild it! You're 80% of the way there. There are pics of putting in the output shaft in part 3(b) of "My A4LD rebuild diary". Equally applicable to your trannie.
