I am trying to progress on my Autorotor twin screw setup and have gotten to the point of the front drive extension bracket. I am stumped on a good way to connect the support bracket to the power steering bracket and add an idler pulley.

If you have one on your truck and can take a picture of the bracket attachments, please do so and email to tmsoko@comcast.net or post.

If intersted check out pics on my WWW - page 5.

Thanks!!!!

there are some more at my hopepage, but probably not what you need.

Ahh, I forgot to specify it is for the 5.0L engine that I need the picture. Thanks for the quickhelp though!

Todd, still need one? I can take a few pics of the front plate and idlers if you need. My idlers are not the same ones from the EE setup because I have an early 97, but they are in the same place.

Yes, I am struggling with a good way to tie the support into the stock brackets and add an idler pulley. I am really interested in some closeups of the bracket by the stock idler and the additional idler they added. Hell, maybe you could take a photo of the installation page or fax it to me. (I hope John V. doesn't mind me asking for this!)

Anyhow, you can contact me at tmsoko@comcast.net. The only things remaining are the support bracket/idler and a custom tune once installed.

Thanks for your help!!!

Its raining and lightning right now, but as soon as I can get some decent light, I'll get you some better pics...

:D

hey guys it is a good idea to use the kenne bell blower on a explorer and it would work great but you could make a tone more power if you put a intercooler on it. x-box still wants to convert his truck to a kennebell setup from his powerdyne. i am going to help him do it but i am going to make it have a intercooler if it kills me. LOL

An intercooler on a Kenne Bell would be nice, but it is a little overkill. There are plenty of guys running 10-12psi without. If you are going for sick boost and super high HP, yes and intercooler is necessary. If you really want an intercooler, you will need to make a custom discharge manifold. Good news is you could use Laminova exhangers at $65 each. 4-5 would be necessary, then make an aluminum box to hold them.

As for the KB setup, it is really coming together quite easy. I am using the stock mustang KB manifolds and a Holley Systemax lower manifold. The Flowzilla will not work, unless you want to modify the dash panel for clearance. The GT40 lower will not work, unless you want to move the throttle calbe an hood cables at the dash panel. I had my drive extension shortened at a machine shop for $200 and it lines up perfectly with the Explorer accessory drive. The only thing remaining is the drive extension support.

the only resone why i said any thing about the intercooler is that it makes a big difrence power and heat wise. i would not want to run more then 8 pounds with out a intercooler. if you put nitrous on it you can get your intercooling in that way.

I orignally planned to make my own manifold and while I was at it include an intercooler. Once I found the mustang parts would work, I took the easy route!

Another alternative I have been looking at is the water injection, but it is dangerous - you can run out of water if not careful!

As for charge temp, that is exaclty why I did not just buy the EE kit. I wanted the twin screw to get a leg up with cooler discharge temp at a given boost than the roots - almost like a free intercooler!

I am planning to run 8-8.5:1 CR when all is said and done and then run boost up to themax pre-detonation. I am sure I will eventually go to intercooling, but that will be down the road - when I have money again!

Cobra, let me know when you get the pics. I am very interested. I hope to start making the bracket in a week or so.

THANKS!

tmsoko- im sure you already know this.

i read a heads up comparison in MM&FF last year comparing an Eaton (90 or 110, cant remember) and a twin screw. the autorotor had much a much colder intake charge with no intercooler than the eaton with a air/water cooler at the same boost levels. even with the twin screw pullied for 8psi, it still blew colder than the 6psi eaton with an intercooler.

also, about 7psi is all you can ever get out of an M90. i helped a friend with his a few years back, and no matter what pulley we used, it would not go over 7lbs. seems you can only spin it so fast before you hit a brick wall, and with the 10lb. pulley it would just cavitate. at WOT boost would drop from 7 to about 2 or 3.
