Who HAS there stock intake box? 4.0?

Right now i have a full KNN intake sys... Butt... I need the stock intake box for a 2003 4door 4.0. I have my stock box but i gutted it(cut holes in it).. Now i am having an idle and random stalling problem. and ford wont fix or even look at my expo till it has stock intake on it... So maybe if someone is local? OR maybe we can mail it? i just need the box... If you want to give me the whole stock intake thats fine... knowing me i lost some important crap.. Either way i need it... Im willing to pay a fee... I live in New York ANy help... TO buy it from ford is out of the question its well over 200dollars... thanks all!

My truck stalls so randomally and it doesnt throw a light... Ford is blaming it on my intake saying that when the fan goes on it tricks the mass air flow sensor and dumps fuel or gas in the engine causing it to stall.... Ford had it for 4 hours and could not get it to stall.. They chargerd me $97dollars an hour and told me sorry we cant find the problem... and blame it on the intake... so i dont know... i went to a regular mechanic and he said the same thing.. until it stalls more or throws a light he dont know what the problem is...

Did you go to Best Ford? THEY SUCK!!!!

that was going to be my next suggestion. it should only run you about 40 bucks. they used to have adjustment built into them but they got away from that. if you ever had something that might back spike through the system, the ohms could be off. another option could be bad o2 sensors. i cant believe they couldnt scan your X with the motor running to get some numbers to compare...

BEST FORD IS HORRIBLE! SO I Went TO Franlink Square FORD AND THEY SUCK JUST AS BAD!!! They blame it on the intake yet i know for a fact its not that!

FORD dealer blames in on the intake... saying when the fan goes on the air hits the intake and then cause the mas air flow sensor to get a false reading and dump gas or air in the engine causing it to stall!!! bulll!!!!! i never herd of that i know alot of ppl with intake on there trucks! THE problem is new! i put the knn intake on like a week after i got my truck the problem just started a month ago! ive had it almost a year! all the my bill from ford says is after market intake and Exhuast! I dont care who you are or where your from, by changing the stock muffler is not going to make a car stall!!!! Does anyone know of a diffrent cheaper intake i could buy and try out and see if its the KNN?

Ford also said they checked the fuel pressure and the computer and everything is running perfect... im fully out of ideas!!!

So they are saying your radiator fan is a turbocharger.....a$$h@les!

Call the corporate offices and discuss it with an agent. Do you have any information from the intakes site that it cannot void a warranty and its been tested...etc. Maybe something to show the dealer. To shell out per hour to them is a rippoff.

Have them explain how the fan will put extra air pass the mass airflow if your engine is not intaking it. Where is it flowing to..a black hole. The air will stop at the intake and thats it ( if for some reason the fan had enough force to push extra air pass the mass. The flow will only be what the engine is intaking...no faster. How come no one with ram air or cold air ducts don't stall out when air gets pushed into the truck. I had my short ram in for a while, and I had no issues. I took it off just for some work I needed done on truck under warranty and did not want to hear crap from dealer. Right now I am running stock box with K&N filter. Short ram will go back in summer.

Best ford took me for $94 dollars saying i had no issues once when I told them I had a code pulled that say" speed controller" . They guy drove it for 2 minutes and said no issue. Next day I left for Florida and the CC would not work. Even it that error did not mean CC. he didn't do a thorough test for $94 an hour..he was gone less than 10 minutes.

yeah i gutted my stock box so i just left the knn on when i took it to ford.. i was screwed either way!

well have you oiled your k&n recently becase the oil screws up the mass airflow sensor. i believe theres a cheep way to fix this though. buy some gumout carb cleaner, and open up your sensor, spray it out and let it dry throuly, then put it back together. but be careful its sensitive. theres forums about this on the explorer 4x4 link, or just try a search for cleaning instructions on here. its a good chance thats the issue

The guys are retards. Why don't you just find a good local shop to go to. Why go to the dealer and pay their outragous prices anyway?? If it's a true K&N intake, it should not affect anything.

After you clean the Mass Airflow Sensor, reset your computer. During cleaning just disconnect battery for the duration.

THats BS to the extream. Like they said, if ram air doesnt affect the sensor, a little fan air from the SIDE, should not effect it in the least. That utter BS.
