Okay Well the good news! is this! my truck is fixed.. I went to Home Depot Spent 20 bucks... and made kind of like a heat shield... and no more stalling and no more rough idle! SO IM REAL mad that ford was actually RIGHT! That the fan was throwin off the mass air flow sensor and making it cut out randomally... ill try and take pics.. its nuttin special... BUT I get to Keep my K&N.. but ill take sum pics and stuff and show u all... I still have to call ford and fight.. who determines how long they take before they tell me they cant find the problem! thats bull

I ran my short ram setup for a year with no ill affect. It was exposed to the same fan air as you.

THATS THE DAMN PROBLEM! i had mine for close to a year too! and the problems started a few weeks ago? maybe as the mass air flow sesor gets older it gets more sensative? thats the only thing i can think of? i am pissed that ford was right! and ill never ever admit it to them!

hey! i just read ur message, and im new to this explorer forum, but ur message cought my eye because i have the same explorer you do and i put a 77 series K&N intake on mine and started doing the same thing, but only during cold weather, 55 or below, the colder the worst. but i have the whole stock intake system intacted, i took it of when my car was 13k miles old.....message me if u r still interested in it..
