why wont my 4 wheel drive work HELP!

hey guys i have a 92' explorer sport, 5 speed with the 4.0. when i try to engage the 4wd nothing happens.... any ideas??

You need to confirm that the transfercase is in fact shifting into 4wd Hi first. Could be your hubs are malfunctioning and TC is ok. Manual or auto TC control?

Transfer case might need inspection,what type of shifting does it have?a manual or automatic see if the axle assemblies are are properly engaged.The filter in my truck has been changed with aFe filter when i find it uneasy for the transmission.
