will a flow master fit?

My friends brother has a set of flowmaster 40 series hes selling from his mustang gt they are 2 1/2 inches in and out. My question is can I some how rig one to fit my current piping?which i believe is 2 1/4 maybe by welding or something? I dont want to change my piping cause I just put a new exhaust on in October. Im not even sure it would work with the v6 so any help would be greatly apreciated.

if u go to like an auto stroe they have piping that can drop down or go up in size... an adapter basically
