I'm trying to get a full list together for things to get for my SAS and thought about locking hubs, I'm going to eventually to install a ARB air locker in the front Dana 44 so will I even need locking hubs?

With or without a locker, you'll need hubs.

without them youll just be spinning the axle shafts but not the tires.

you could use drive flanges but that would permanently lockup the axle shafts and transfer all the way down making your driveshaft still spin in 2wd. so i wouldnt advise those either, unless you trailer it

O.k. thanks guys. Just had to ask since it doesn't have lock outs now but was on a '89 GW 4wd. Been over a decade since I owned solid axle axle ('79 IH Scout II) had lock outs when I bought it so never worked on one that didn't. It kinda threw me off.

Ok, just watched some videos on YouTube for installing lockouts, didn't know what the Jeep hubs had in them until then, so I just remove those parts and install the lockouts, correct?
