Will this center console fit?

Hey everyone. Would this center console work if I wanted to go from the bag console to the "high series" like this project shows?

It looks a little different from the one in the picture so I wanted to make sure it would fit before I pulled the trigger.

Not that I'm aware of. It is not the same console as the project shows.

Search here for "console" by my username and you'll have some reading to do.

The ONLY direct fit full length console that I know of will have to come from a 01-03 Sport or 01-05 Sport Trac ........ IF you want to keep the rear blower intact as designed.

I used an ST full console in a 2nd gen and we only had to drill 2 holes, IIRC, since the mounting points were a bit different, apart from that, it looks stock.

Not sure why wouldn't that fit...

Thanks Ranch, just called the guy. He told me $20 and it's mine. It's just a 4 and a half hour drive from where I am so I asked if he would see what it would cost to ship and I'll decide whether or not it would be worth it just to drive up and get it.

jad2411, The Sport/Sport Trac will fit a Gen 2 Ex with no problems but a Gen 2 won't fit the Trac due to the location of the crash module on top of the hump interfering with the console air duct. I have plenty of photos in my earlier threads on the subject.

heck yea! Even if it costs $50 to ship down to central cal where I am it's still worth it! I almost didn't believe him when he said $20. I may just head up there this weekend and get it from him. Thanks for your help Ranch! this forum rocks

So talking to the guy a bit, the console is a tan color. My interior is gray. I'm still going to go get it because the price is so cheap and it's been a pain to find, but can any of you guys recommend what I should paint it with?

Well, the door panels did look tan but the console looked gray.

Yeah I thought so too but the guy said he "thinks" it's tan. He's going to check when he gets off work today but I figured I'd ask so I could anticipate my next move if it is tan. Thanks again Ranch!
