wiper motor-linkage noisy

I have a 2002 Explorer XLT. The wipers have just started to have a clicking sound. The sound seems to come from the drivers side. It is not the blade, but in the motor or linkage. Any suggestions?

take off the motor housing and spray it with wd40.

there is the black plastic vent-cover over it. How do I remove that?

thanks...I got the plastic cover off and sprayed WD-40...no click noise! Thanks again.
