So I went out to Meijers today, to get a wiring harness, on my dash kit it told me the model number for the JBL systems so i got that one, get it home, and theres FOUR connectors on there, all spliced into ONE set of wires (as in; power, ground, speakers etc etc)

What the hell do I do with this??

I figured out that this still uses the stock amp, but the power/ground/rem ETC plug is fine, but the GREEN one which looks like it should fit over the plug for the speaker harness DOES NOT fit, and none of them do.

The black one is what the 1st gens speaker harness looks like, idk what the white one is for...

Should I take it back and try another one or what?

I red more in that booklet thing, it says 95-97 not compatable with the rear tuners (where the headunit doesnt have an antenna wire plugged into it)

So what harness do i need!!??

Just got done with my 97 EB with JBL. I tried the same harness you have and it didnt work either. I went to local audio shop for the correct harness. They didnt have the correct one. The one they wanted to order for me a metra harness and it would by pass the rear amp, but you would have to run wires from the back to the front. Today was the only time I had so I used the slinder gray plug for power, ground ect. I then ran speaker wire to all four doors and connected them to the amp I installed. I also bought antenna and mounted it behind the radio. Running the wires to each door wasnt bad just took time to make it look clean. Finished about 2 hours ago and it sounds great. All together i spent 35.00 for dash kit and antenna. Hope this helps you, I did a lot of searching and this seemed like the cheapest and easy. Nobody knows what color the wires are in the dash, seems Ford used what ever was handy.

Well thats another option I guess....thats what I was just reading on crutchfield, with the specified harness for the 95 jbl system, people said great harness, just had to run speaker wires back...?

Isnt it like my 92, where i can just use the front harness and it'l use the stock amp, otherwise get the amp bypass where it just connects the 2 amp harnesses??

Also, what about the antenna? Theres obv. the rear tuner, so the antennas plugged in back there, how do I go about routing that up to the headunit?

If you get the by pass harness it will come with 16 foot antenna cable to plug into rear unit . You will then have to run the cable from the rear to behind the head unit. I just figured if I had to run a antenna cable from the rear to front I might as well run all new wire.

So if I got the bypass, I wont have to run speaker wire?

(I dont plan on doing that, until I find a good 4 channel amp to install then im running my own spkr. wire lol)

Ill probably goto the car audioshops monday to find the whole she-bang haha

thanks for the info tho dude :D

The harness can still be used. You only use 2 of the connectors. You can buy a bypass only for the amp($15 tops), and still use the factory speaker wires. I have already done this, and it works just fine.

When you install a 4 ch amp, you will be running your own speakers wires anyways, might as well do it now, forget about the amp bypass, and keep the harness you have now. The antenna can be ran straight to the H/U from the antenna.

Yea im just gonna stick with the bypass for now, but I cant use 2 of the 4 connectors, only the wide grey one which is the power, and illumination, ground etc, and then the green one looks like it should work, but the wires are on opposite sides of the connector on the trucks harness, plus it will not fit, i tried and tried.

The wide gray connector you use. The other is the small square black connector. That goes to the amp connector. Look for the thick gray wire bundle with a similar square end to it. If you do not have this connector, you don't have an amp in the back. 1 of the other 2 connectors are for the remote CD player, cant remember what the other is for.

The black connector is for a 1st gen, thats whats on my 92, you might of gotten confused by my avatar or w/e this is for the 95, 2nd gen.
