I have a 91 4x4 Ex with 2" Skyjacker coil lift. I am using Pro Comp ES9000 series shocks. I used to run 31x10.50 BFG KMs and she rode great on and off road. Now, I am running 32x11.50 Goodyear MT/Rs (I already know, they rub) and it feels as though the tires will not stay in contact with the road, even on a slightly bumpy road. I pulled the shocks off, and used the ground to collapse the shock. The compression and rebound felt as if they are still new. I also tried airing down the tires from 40 psi, to 32 psi, then to 26 psi. The rough ride only got worse. Then I replaced the radius arm bushings, pivot arm bushings, and inner and outer wheel bearings. The ride still felt terrible. I then aired the tires back up to 42 psi. The ride quality is somewhat better, but still very bouncy and darty. I wonder if anyone has run into a similar problem. Does anyone think the shocks I am running aren't strong enough to keep my tires in contact with the road? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I am almost ready to sell my Ex (reluctantly, because I love Fords), and buy something straight axled and four linked from the factory. Please, tell me a heap Jeep isn't my only way out.
