Hello,

I recently inherited a 96 Explorer E.B. with 66k. The vehicle is very clean, but has some minor electrical issues. One item that I must fix very soon is the hazard lights (PA requires a annual safety inspection.) After looking at some other threads I was able to diagnose the issue to the actual hazard light button itself. If I release the button all the way to the ON position only my left side lights work. Now if I depress the button about a 1/4 way down and with a slight fiddle I can get all four lights to flash. This will never pass inspection.

I feel very comfortable replacing the switch, but I need to know what my options are before I tear the steering wheel column apart. Can this switch be repaired and cleaned? Or do I need to replace it?

I have looked online for a new replacement switch, but not had much luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this. I would like to avoid a used one from a salvage yard.

I'm also having issues with the power mirrors not working. I've checked all the fuses located in the fuse panel located near the drivers side door.

Thanks in advance.

The whole turn signal switch comes as an assembly-take you about a half hour tops to change it out, for the $40 it will set you back IMO not worth screwing around with the old one.
