Won't go into 4x4 high or low?? Help!

I have an 04 Ford explorer xlt. 4.0L. Was in obx this weekend and decided to take my bro out on the beach to cruise but my ex wouldn't go into 4wd high or low and the lights won't come on. I hear they are supposed to light up when you first start the car and go away but mine won't even do that. Need help because I'm going back in 2 weeks and would like to have this fixed. Thanks in advance. Just got my ex a few weeks ago so new to all this.


P.S. a friend said it probably is my 4x4 control module? Is he right? Thanks again.

Sounds like a fuse to me.
Check all fuses and relays, under the hood and the side of the dash where the front door closes.

get it fixed? you know to put the truck in neutral first, pres the button then put it back in drive, correct?
