I'm look to buy an xcal2 for my 2004 4.0 xls; James Henson told me that he needs a list of my mods, and the computer code so that he can tun it correctly....

I was told to look in the A pilar - near the windchild/windchill/windshield - under the rubber and look for a little metallic tag wich has the computer code (some alfa-numeric thinggie)....

I didn't find anything... am I looking in the right place? where else can I find the computer code?.

Thanks for your help.

Try your passenger side door frame area. Open the door up and look at the part of the door frame where the front of the door is.

Worst case scenario is that you get the Xcal2, read your strategy code (REAL easy job) and send that, and your list of mods, to James and he can make a tune from there.

Thanks, rocket5979... I removed the weather seal around the door and I saw nothing... the only thing that was there was some residual glue (in the upper part of the door frame)... it looks like there was a little rectangular plate/tag (about an inch long or so)... could it be that the tag was removed by the previous owner (enterprise) ?

It could have been. My sticker was out in the open on the front of the door frame. It is about that size.

Don't worry about it. Just have James shoot that Xcal2 to you; then read your strategy, send it to him and be done with it. If it takes me more than 2 minutes to locate the PCM box code sticker I just take the easy route and read the code through the Xcal2.

This is exactly what I did
