is that a mach? The news reports says 2002.. Still regardless thats one nasty wreck.

This was an absolutely terrible crash... I saw it on the local news, and unfortunately, he didn't only kill himself, but his girlfriend as well. Not good.

Somehow I think they were going a lot faster than 75 or 80 like the article said. I'd guesstimate north of 100 if it cut the car in two and ripped the belt out of its mechanism.

There were only about 280 blue 5speed's made. :(

So what's the count down to now? By percentages, it seems more Machs have met their demise than just about every other sports car out there. In fact, the Enzo is the only one that I can think of that's probably had a higher percentage destroyed. High HP + Low IQ = :splat: and usually = :dead:

This thread B-L-O-W-S! :D

Kinda makes me sickly.

here's one locally from the Frederick, MD area.

This is a very sad thread but you can't help and see what others mistakes result in...truly sad...

It would be insane to watch someone slice a car in half on a telephone pole. I drove by a wreck from some people streetracing in Michigan and it looked like the car was made with the pole in the middle of it. I heard it involved a mustang but not for sure but I know some people died from it. Sad sad thing to see...

Jeeze, this is a horrible thread.

I want to think that an explorer would have held up better than any of these mustangs. But of course in the same senario an explorer would have rolled over a few times ;)

I mean one of these mustangs was torn completely in half.

Do you think that having an actual frame under our explorers would help at all keeping our trucks together in a sever accident like in one of these above as opposed to just a unibody car?

I think your missing the point.. These cars are all limited editions, they were only made in 2003 & 2004. in 2003, only 9,652 were made and 7,182 in 2004..

Rick & Jdraper both have mach1's so this topic is a very touchy one..

Oh, I see, too few were made and now they are becoming extinct because their owners can't handle the power!

And I'd imagine with dwindling amounts of these cars the value should stay steady and perhaps go up.

They aren't going up...yet. They are holding pretty well though. I paid $24,600 out the door for mine brand new in '04 and it's still worth about $18k on dealer trade (I almost traded mine in on an '08 GT-500) in or $20k private sale.
