2 things... why so much lift?

also, not sure about the oil filter being so high. Is that not going to add alot more work on the oil pump, to pump it through the whole engine, and that far up to the filter? When I did mine, I mounted it on the frame rail.

i actually used a driveshaft out of an older f-150 or maybe a 250, well eitherway i measured had it shortened and it went in no problem.
 






after i built the oil filter bracket i started thinking about that exact same thing... Do you have any pics of where you mounted yours on the frame.
Where its at right now, the main benefit would have to be how well protected it is. I kinda like the fact that i know it isnt ever going to get beat up.

Why so much lift?

well i plan on runnin 35s to 36s right now but someday 38.50s. I want it to be high because i enjoy running water holes, whether at silver lake or local trails, and i figure the height will help keep my engine and more importantly interior out of the water.
