Year, Model & Trim Level
94 LTD
I have a 94 LTD, and a couple months ago. I had to push the gas a couple of time before the first gear engage. But once it does, everything was fine even if i stop it's ok(as long as I don't put it to P,R, or N)
And for no reason it didn't engage the first gear at all..
only the reverse still work.
I had my transmission rebuilt last year..and I put less then 20000 miles on it..
Anybody can help me???

Thanks in advance

Ps all the fluid are at level and there is no leak.
It happen cold or hot.

Welcome to this forum! You might have a problem with the manual slide valve, sticking parts in the valve body, clogged valve body, loose valve body bolts, bad manual boost valve, or bad gaskets. It's hard to determine what the exact problem is without connecting a pressure gauge onto its test port to see how much pressure is being developed when you go into a non functioning gear. Just because the transmission was recently rebuilt doesn't necessarily mean that it was done correctly. Some shops don't thoroughly clean out the valve body, cooler, or lines. If hard parts are badly worn, they could produce metal shaving that clog everything up. Here is a thread that has some information that you might find helpful: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1402078#post1402078. I know that it discusses a temperature related problem, but it has other information in there. I suggest dropping the pan, and replacing the filter, and fluid. Check if you find any hard fragments floating around. I would also suggest reading the A4LD VB rebuild diary, A4LD diary, and project Frankentranny stickies on the top of the transmission section for more detailed information. They have pictures, diagrams, part numbers, and troubleshooting information.
