ok check this out! I wanted a "cold air intake" now i have it, for hundreds less. i bought a K&N cone filter from advance auto parts. then i went to lowes and shopped in the pluming and electrical depts.

K&N filter: 30$
Flat PVC bushing 1.99$
Lightswitch plate(dual switch): .97c
Orange gasket sealer: 1.99$
2"-3" rubber PVC bushing 3.00$
Nuts& Bolts (1/4x28) metric from adv auto parts 4.00$
TOTAL = 41.95$
Frustration of making it work right? PRICELESS

i will try to get some pics up on my site soon but thats what it cost me. UNDER 50$!!!!!
i used the flat bushing and the lightswitch plate to make the ever popular "adapter" and the 2"-3" rubber PVC bushing was used to fir to the filter. the lightswitch plate was "modified" by the power of my dremel™ tool. i drilled 4 holes in it to make it bolt to the MAF, then i cut a hole out of the middle to match the opening of the MAF. the PVC flat bushging was epoxied to the light switch plate. it took me about 3 hrs to set it all up, and that includes smoke and soda breaks. i used my stock intake plenum. as a side note i would cut the PVC flat bushing in half to make everything fit a little bit smoother.

nice job. I'd like to see some pictures. I like the trademark denotations also.

yeah, it worked nicely however the 2-3" rubber bushing was not nessecary after all, i used the PVC flat bushing and cut it shorter on both ends, fits puuuuuuurrrrrrrfect now. i will have pics tomorrow sometime, they will be posted on my website.

you want pics or and a shopping list?lol i am not jokng here guys...i really did this for under 50$ and t does work.

I got the shopping list

I just want to see how you put it together and if it looks like *(& if it does, I will wait, save and put the K$N filter kit on (I would use the & sign but lets face it the $ is more appropriate)

true...I look at this setup like this...it took me a while to put it all together, and it works. i promise it does not look like S*(& however for those having an extra 2 or 3 hundred to throw around. go for it. i mean you cant just slap this together, it took some painting as well...
all i can show u is a pic where its installed..and use MS paint to make a few arrows to the lowes parts...

I did mine for $40, all I needed was a saw and some extra wire ;) - I'd also like to see pics, I love seeing custom intake setups. huskyfan23ii@yahoo.com or res0is07@verizon.net if the pics are over a meg total.

Thats cool, sounds like the one i made for my Honda 250R to eliminate the airbox for MX racing. Worked great, especially for overrev. mine only cost me about 40 dollars from meeks, but I used a lot less parts. Good job, when are you gonna post some pics?

tomorrow sometime after i get new batteries for digi cam

I guess I didn't read correctly, I thought you redid the whole system, not just build an adapter. Here's what I did with mine:

Okay guys, I was in a Checker the other day, and as we all know the cold air kits are all over the place these days, you can even buy them at Circuit City!!

Anyways in Checker they started selling MAS/filter adapters. They are under $10 and they may come in the right size.......I personally have a 70mm Granatelli MAS and I dont think the import scene has any MAS meters that large, so it may be hard to find at Pep Boys/Checker....

Just FYI
