Common 5.0 Oil Leaks?

I have the smell of buring oil coming from the engine compartment. It seems to be coming from the driver side but I don't see any visible leaks. Looking through the wheel well, the driver side frame seems to be a little wet with oil. Any direction anyone has would be great. I really don't use oil between changes so it must be a small leak.

I'd check the dip stick. It just sits in there with a bolt from the manifold holding it down. Maybe it came loose or bent or got tired of working.

5.0's are stout engines, and it seems like on the rare occasions they do develop leaks, it has been around the valve covers, at least in the 5.0's I've been around.

valve covers.... but the steel and rubeer O-ring ford gasket fix that (most use them from 94+)


and the rear main leaks...
